This is only the 4th film of the writer and director Andrey Zvyagintsev. Zvyagintsev manages to have you sit on the edge of your seat always thinking something terrible is going to happen very soon. The film on many levels is disturbing. But at the end you are grateful that you have seen this remarkable work of art. Think of it as a penetrating portrait of Russian society executed with the skill of the great masters.
