Django Unchained
The first and last Tarantino film that I saw was Pulp Fiction. There was a deeply sadistic streak in his movie making that revolted me. I found his glorification of murder deeply troubling.
Die Wand (The Wall)
Die Wand wants to reveal the essence of the human conditions. Poets, philosophers and writers of all stripes have been trying for millennia to crystalize for us how to live the good live. So let’s admit it: just coming close to what the great minds have said about this without plagiarizing every word is a tall feat.
Skyfall, Alex Cross, Pitch Perfect
Over the past couple of months, I saw three films that I still need to briefly review. Skyfall. I resisted watching another installment of James Bond but friends vouched that it is really good entertainment.
Soul Kitchen
This is the third Faith Aitken film that I laid eyes on. It is more playful than the first two. The story is weakly held together by the trials and tribulations of a German Greek restaurant owner, Zinos, who is trying to make a living with his restaurant located in on old Hamburg warehouse.
Zero Dark 30
It took the US government 10 years to find and kill Osama Bin Laden. The film spends a long 2 hours and 37 minutes to chronicle the long hunt. The first hour is so slow that you feel as frustrated as the people who were hunting Osama for years without meaningful progress.
